Happy little fella...

I recently got myself a neat 50mm f/1.2L for my Canon, and I LOVE it!!!! :lust
Honestly it bent my head at first, as the majority of the shots are WAY too soft if you shoot at 1.2. -Also my lens has a tendency to focus in front/behind the subject if they are 10 meters + from you. However... once you accept where you can work with it... it's fab and I love it!!! At this stage I usually end up having it on as my standard lens instead of the 16-35 f/2.8L (Mark 2)... even if it "really is" equivalent to 80mm. -Which let's agree... isn't the most clever thing to use for day to day snaps... *lol*
Anyhow... this is the kiddo of a friend of mine. We ran into them at a shopping centre and it wasn't too much light, so 1.2 came in handy.
What say you folks..? C&C always welcome.

I think the pic looks great! His eyes are awesome...the focus is tack sharp! I have been looking to buy a new 50 for a few weeks, I just upgraded to a 50D and my 50mm 1.8 no longer will focus. Are you happy with the 1.2 so far?
...Scott
I gotta tell you mate... if you can... go for it!!!! Like I say, sometimes I think it's too soft (easily to be mistaken for out of focus), but once you get used to how to shoot with it and work files, you are sold! Also worth noticeing is, once you actually do stop down to 1.8 or lower, it's easily sharper than any other 50mm I have ever experienced. -that would be all of them for Canon. Have you ever used the 50mm Marco for Canon? It's razor sharp good optics, but slow like no tomorrow! That said... it is INSANE sharp, so a bit of give and take. And that's also how I feel about the 1.2 lens. It's insane sharp once you stop down, and the sooner you recognise 1.2 as "something" special you will fall in love with it.
Just having a coffe break now, but once I am back home I'll upload a couple of others to show you what I mean.
Cheers!! Ivar
