I finally got an almost decent shot of the White Ibis that has been here for a few days. The sun was out in full force again today though, as you can see...

Thanks, I was happy just to be able to see the bill clearly. That is what got my attention when I first saw it.

Our refuge only sees them a couple of times a year and then only one or two, so, I was very excited when I saw it and had no clue what it was. I was lucky enough to have my field guide with me that day.
We are in a fly-way here. We get a lot of things coming and going. **Right now we have tons of Gadwalls. When I went out with the birders last Tuesday(trying to learn something) they counted 88 different birds that day. That amazes me. A couple of years ago there were even a couple of Whooping cranes stopped by. Spoonbills also come through occasionally. Every time I go out there it is aa new adventure to see if I can see the next new thing before anyone else.

** Ok, it is official I have lost my mind..."Right now we have tons of Gadwalls."
Lets change that to Godwits... quite a few Marbeled and some Hudsonian. (I can't believe I did thatrolleyes1.gif )
