just back home from my few days in london. i had the good fortune of being able to eat and shoot with my good friends gubbs and luben :food
earlier, i posted some castles in infrared here and so now, let's look at some color shots.
but first - the important stuff. gubbs, mrs g, and gubbs' two lovely daughters took me to a wonderful nepalese restaurant, and did we ever feast.. about 6 kinds of curry, lamb, chicken, prawns, veggies (spinach, potatoes), papadums, naan, hoo-boy it was a spice fest. a thoroughly enjoyable time.
a few of the dishes
ang dorjee, our gurkha waiter
well let me tell you, luben solev takes his sweet light seriously. he calculated that sunrise would be at 0446hrs, so gubbs and luben picked me up at my hotel at 0315hrs! :yikes
mrs g had kindly picked out a lovely hotel for me in the area, and well, for the three hours i slept, i certainly didn't need this lap of luxury :lol3 :uhoh
so, we made it to bodiam castle, right at sunrise. after four days of mostly rain :cry it was worth the extra effort to get there for some sweet light
i think the best part about being a landscaper is that after the sweetlight, you get to :eat breakfast :lol3
waximondo, this ought to qualify as a "proper english fry-up" :lol3
enjoy (next to zero sleep) photography,

It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not.

Is there a moat? or is that the water? Isn't there a plank that you ride the horses over to get to the castle?

Oh my, that castle was well worth the wake up call! Had to re-orient myself with the steering wheel on the "wrong" side
And, yes, I have memories of friend eggs, fried tomatoes, and lots of tea and fried toast for breakfast! :

And yes, that's a Brit brekkie. No stewed tomatoes, though.

2 days before the biggest exam of my life...just wanted to thank you for the relaxation and good memories that photo brought back to me. thats the beauty of dgrin and photography in general...not so much about the technique or gear (though that stuff is fun) but really about where your photos can take the viewer.
