Hill Country Lane - Single Image HDR

I shot this in Sisterdale, Texas, last week. I tonemapped a single image through Photomatix, with some final tweaks in PS. I went with a bit more "extreme" approach hoping for a rustic look but without going too far. I'd appreciate some C&C on this one.

    I like it Lauren, I'd be interested to see a the gates on the right side cropped out so there is nothing but trees leading your eyes from the right down the path.

    Thanks, Eric. To me, the gates were inviting me to see the other side. But looking at it again, since the gates are closed that concept doesn't work so well. I like your crop suggestion and will give it a try. Thanks for the help!

    I like the composition and I vote you keep the gate. I'd like to see the sky lightened a little as, the HDR effect is making it look a bit fake.

    Thanks, Daniel. Here is another version, w/o the gate and with a brighter sky. I also reprocessed in Photomatix. Comments?
