Uploading with Zscreen?

Zscreen is a free, open source screen capture program with a bunch of options including uploading to tinypic and imageshack... It also seems to have custom options available for uploading through HTTP to anywhere else you can configure...

Does anyone here know if this can be used with Smugmug?

No idea. Sure looks complicated. Why would you need to use this, vs. our Simple Uploader? Or a free program like Send To SmugMug? Or Star Explorer?

Andy: He wants to be able to take a screen cap and upload it directly to SmugMug from within the app. Saves several steps.

TalkieT: Looks interesting. Let me poke at it for a bit. I have a feeling it won't work though since the SmugMug API requires a separate call to login before it allows you to upload.

Gah! I misread the original note.

Took a look. The author (or somebody) would have to do a bit of work to make Zscreen compatible with SmugMug.

First off he'd need to add a section for your SmugMug username and password, as he does for Imageshack and TinyPic.

He'd then have to use the SmugMug API to generate a session key, and that session key would need to be passed when uploading. Also, you'd need an AlbumID (where do the photos get uploaded?)

    Anyways, details are here: http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/API/show+1.2.2?method=smugmug.images.upload

    Older docs are here:

I guess under 1.2.2 MD5Sum and ByteCount are no longer required? That's good.

Thanks for having a look Darryl...

I guessed it might be a bit hard so eventually just configured it to upload to a local FTP site which is accessible to my webserver... SO now generating a screenshot and URL for someone is literally a 10 second operation... It's great how just hitting a hotkey, then typing a filename (or just hitting enter to accept the default) puts a URL in my paste buffer...

Even easier is to use Jing (pc or Mac) or Skitch (Mac) both free and both awesome for screen grabs :D
