Turn on file names...

I wish I had done this to begin with. Now that I have a bunch of galleries created, is it possible to go back and turn on file names for ALL of my galleries with just a few clicks and picks, or do I have to go to each gallery and do it individually?
Blessed are those who remain flexible, for they shall not get bent out of shape.

    Hi Eddie,

You could create a quick setting and apply that to all your galleries. Keep in mind that quick settings don't allow you to change individual gallery settings, but rather apply all settings with few exceptions listed here (bottom of page).

Alternatively, you could use SmugBrowser to just change the setting on all your galleries. It's a free Firefox plugin. You can get SmugBrowser here.

    Hi Andy,

Let me just run you through the steps, and see if this helps:

    1) Click the Customize button under any gallery or click Tools > Customize Gallery from within any gallery
    2) Under the Quick Settings dropdown at the top of the page, select "Save settings on this page as..." and give your new quick setting a name in the box that appears below. This will apply most of the gallery settings, including the filenames option, to the quick setting. So make sure you have the filenames button set to Yes before you do this.
    3) Click Save. This will save the quick setting.
    4) Click Tools > Customize gallery again from any gallery
    5) Select the Quick Setting you just created from the dropdown, and click Apply to Other Galleries.
    6) Select the galleries that you want to apply the quick setting to from the list. Check the Quick Setting dropdown on this page to make sure the correct setting is selected
    7) Click Apply, and you should be good to go.

Keep in mind that quick settings do not save gallery title, description, keywords, category, subcategory, or theme. Applying a quick setting to an existing gallery will not re-make thumbnails or re-watermark photos already in the gallery.

Please let us know if you're still having trouble getting this to work, and let us know where the problem seems to be occurring. Thanks!
