Los Angeles Arboretum

This is a nice large county park in Arcadia, CA which is a suburb just north of Los Angeles. It's a large place that has several ponds for water birds, may different gardens, and forest like settings to walk thorough. Perhaps best known for the victorian mansion which was featured on the TV show "Fantasy Island" where Tatoo would ring the bell and yell "Boss, the plane, the plane." They also have a horse stall which has rich warm woodlining on the roof and the walls, which makes for nice lighting.

1. Well, gotta have some of the peacock. Tried to get one with a soft focusing effect with it's own feathers. So I manually focused on the eye as the AF would be thrown off by the feathers as this bird rotated.

2. Gotta love that stall, with the warm wood walls/ceiling/floors... so warm.

6. Saw the rim lighting in the early morning and couldn't resist. the 9 aperture blades of the sigma 20mm gives an 18 pointed flare star. Cool, at least for me...

A bit flat in terms of composition and ended up cropping the guy on the right, but saw this in b/w in my mind's eye. May not keep this one.
