I had a great time shooting in Santa Barbara this weekend. Thanks to all who attended for contributing to a wonderful weekend.
Here are a couple of shots I took.
Sunset from Marc's backyard (OK, it's just up the street from the Studio)
Mission Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara Harbor
The Poppy Fields.
Another Sunset.
What a great time. Thanks all!

Thanks everyone!
No HDR. Just layer masks. Two exposures. One for the grass and the other, the sun. Make a mask, paint in the mask and done. This was a two minute edit (literally).

It's nice to see your shots larger than on the iPhone. I love each and every one of these and they're inspiring.
Fantastic weekend. I'm still basking in the afterglow. (Er, or maybe that's the heat wave we're having...)

Ah, gotcha. Now I see what you referring to in your comment in my Donner Lake Sunrise post. What you accomplished here is very similar to what I do with HDRs. My plan is to start using manual layer masks in conjunction with HDRs as one of the layers so that you get the best of both worlds. From what I've read, that's what the big boys do.

There's something about a spiral staircase when you look at it from the bottom. How it leads gently up in such a tiny space.
