Lets start with a 900 year old fort. also called the "Sonar Kila" or Golden fort, its one of the oldest "living" forts in the world. by living fort I mean people still have houses inside the fort. And you thought your 10 year old apartment has grown old
The CentoPahs, or memorial umbrellas of kings gone by
Fossils millions of year old. I found seashells here, from the time when Indian subcontinent crashed against mainland Asia
Finally the desert starts, its going to get sandier and sandier
Ship of the desert
Finally the dunes.
The night has fallen, and we will sleep now, on the sands
But how can you sleep when there are so many stars!
The day breaks
Time to head back
Time for monuments
more
From the fort walls
The Golden fort again
The ruined village. Residents of Kuldahara left overnight 500 years ago.
All that remains are the buildings
The old temple is still standing
The only inhabitents are bats
Bat droppings
In closing, a salt lake

Sand dunes start around 50kms from the town.
This place sees much more foreign tourist than domestic, esp travellers from Europe. Infact many local hotels have one or two people who speak french, spanish, german and even korean to attract foreign tourists.
Since a nice room costs less than 50$, and ditto for the desert safari, it makes for a very cheap vacation since airfares from Europe are not very high.
