SmugTug: photo bulk downloader service (pre-alpha)

I wrote SmugTug, a bulk SmugMug photo downloader.

It is still very much alpha, but you can give it a shot.
The idea is not unlike other bulk downloaders, but it has two key differences.
1) you don't have to install any software, and
2) you can make it work for password protected albums.

It lives at:

http://smugtug.com/

On that page you specify a URL of a SmugMug gallery, your email address, and a desired photo size.
A few minutes later (or hours... it is pre-alpha, after all) you get an email with a link to a zipfile with all the photos in it.

SmugTug also works for password protected albums, but only if
1) the gallery owner signed up with SmugTug, and
2) s/he grants that email explicit permission.

Feedback welcome.
That's kind of the point, in fact.

Thanks.

I hate to see that this wasn't supported enough. :( I actually needed it in a possible upcoming project.

Not to be picky, but there are other applications out there that also support downloading passworded albums.

But the path your application takes is indeed different.
I use them too, but this one solved a problem whereby anyone with a albumID and albumKey could enter it in and get the entire album. To a certain extent I guess it promoted downloading albums without a photographer knowing, but for what I needed it for, it was perfect. :cry

Did that work without a password, just using an Id, and a key? Maybe I got it all wrong...

I don't think it would work for password protected galleries, but it would work for private ones, which is what all of mine are.
