Thanx for posting these beautiful bear photos. I am bringing a friend from England to Yosemite and dread the crowds in July. Maybe we will hit sequoia on the way back. My sister lives one hour from there. Lucky her!
    Great gets!

I'll tell you right now that we visited Yosemite for 7 days and saw only a few coyotes. The crowds were unbearable and hiking or photography was hard due to the amount of people.

We drove a few hours down to Sequoia on a fellow photographers recommendation that was camped beside us in Yosemite and I swear it was like a different world.

We camped for free in a beautiful field in the park, we rode our motorcycle daily along empty roads and it was almost spooky because of how empty the park was.

Every time we saw bears close enough to photograph, all these shots actually, were taken by the giant log tunnel in the park. We saw bears all over the park, but each time we'd pass by the log tunnel, we'd spot a bear or two.

Just be careful while hiking, even though these are just brown bears, hiking along a quiet trail and having one cross the path really raises the blood pressure. Now if we were in Yellowstone and this was a Grizzly, I'd have left skid marks going the other way!
