I got off of work and we headed right out to the peak as soon as we could. The weather report said thunder but the skies were completly blue so knew if we got out fast we might be able to get ahead of the weather. We took powerline pass trail on our bikes and were able to bike most of the way making really good time. There are some snow patches especially at the end that we had to walk but nothing we could not handle easily. After coming over the pass i saw that Homicide (our initial destination) was right on the way out and since we were already on Avalanche we could just give it a go first. The idea was that if we got weathered fast we would atleast have one peak! This appeared to work because by the time we were down from Avalanche there were some nasty black thunderclouds hanging over anchorage and moving in on us fast! We biked down to Indian which was a really fast and fun right and even got hit by hail on the way down. We were able to stay ahead of the weather for the most part though and made it down without getting electrified or rained out. Although we did not get both peaks like we had hoped it was a succesful trip!
