I'll be headed to Banff, Lake Louise in late May. Can anyone recommend some must see Photo Ops.

Thanks,

Dan

    Banff is fun
Banff is fun. There are all sorts of great things to see around Banff and Lake Louise.
Cave & Basin and the Marsh Loop at Cave & Basin are nice and historical. Cave & Basin is essentially the place that started the federal Canadian Parks system.
Banff Springs Hotel & Bow Falls
Vermillion Lakes is about 5-10 minutes from Banff.
Bow Valley Parkway Highway 1A between Banff and Lake Louise is lovely.
Ice Fields Highway (Highway 93N) offers incredible views of mountains, lakes and glaciers. It is the Highway that goes North of Lake Louise to Jasper. Bow Pass and Peyto Lake are about 40 minutes north of Lake Louise. Here is a good link: with driving information for HWY 1, HWY 1A, and 93N: http://www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/visit1c_E.asp
Of course there are lots of little day hikes and loops. It might be useful to go to the parks information centre too. I find the parks folks really helpful.
    Have an excellent time.

On my way to the 2007 Shootout I met up with fellow DGrinners Ann, Skippy, and Gluwater for a tour of the Canadian Rockies/National Parks. It was a fanatastic journey and I'd love to spend more time at each place in the future, but here's link to the thread we started with some info and shots from each of us to maybe give you some ideas.
