This little bastard got on me when I went out taking pics at the nature center.

The problem started wednesday when I found the tick (not a deer tick)
latched onto the middle, back of my calf.

The results.

I get to go to the clinic monday

and don't ask for a reshoot cause the tick is a little blurred. :wxwax

    Cool, Dave, Cool.

    Glad you could photograph it.

I was shooting today, the ospreys, it started to rain, and it only got worse. I kind of kept my camera covered with my sweatshirt, had to get the Osprey babies, you know. Never mind that anything taken in the rain is blurred, totally useless, I stood there and took the photos.

Suddenly my husband showed up from the car, he had a huge black umbrella, so shooting the blurry Ospreys became a bit easier.

I am sure we would have made a much better photograph than anything I was taking a photo of. That did occur to me, but I only had a monopod, and it was a real drenching, so no way to take the photo.

I don't know what to do with the blurry ospreys. They are growing up. Will leave the nest, quite literally, soon.

I do hope that the dr can do something helpful with your sore, that does look nasty, especially for a tick bite. Good thing you are getting it looked at.

ginger (I am hoping for a reshoot, myself)
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

He's certainly left a nasty mark dave umph.gif

I get covered in the little blighters when i go out. They sit at the very tip of blades of grass & wait for an animal (Gus) to wander past.

Dont let greaper look here though...i know he has a phobia about crawling stuff & im hoping that one day he will come over here for a shoot with me.

EWW! That's a terrible tick bite! I've never had one end up like that thankfully, but I love to hike and I get them on me all the time. I keep looking at the tick picture and shuddering and then looking at it again. It's facinating but just...*shivers* at the same time...

I went hiking today and this is what came off of me in the bath:

I love nature, but I don't get very excited when it follows me inside. I hope the doctor gave you something to help that tick bite.

    Well, ahhhh, thanks for looking?rolleyes1.gif

    Really thanks for the concern.
I went to the Doctor. 8 years of college, he gives me an antibiotic, and draws
a circle around it. He says if it infection gets larger than the circle to come
back. $80 and a co-pay of $15 for this. Somehow I was hoping for more.

I had a rash from a tick bite last year. It was about the size of a lemon. The Doc gave me antibiotics and sent be for a blood test. The results were negative fortunately but the rash left my skin slightly discolored.

Although the wound looks deep. I really don't think the tick was there
for that long of a time. Like I say, I 've been walking down the paths
at the nature center for some time now, and when I get home I check
the places I can, and have my wife check some others.iloveyou.gif (I love that woman)
About a two weeks ago I had one biting into the middle of my back. I got
that one off of me before he really dug in.

I think I must be allergic to tick bites. Every time one digs in, I have to
    get an antibiotic.

I don't suppose you want to see the bee sting on my arm that I got about
the same time as the tick bit?ne_nau.gif

One question for gus, Is there anything that isn't poisonous in Oz?:uhoh

    Thanks again for looking.

Ew they are gross alright. I had one once that made me really really sick and it was there 4 days before I found it. I hear the trick is turpentine will make them let go to minimise damage when removing them....or was it methylated spirit?headscratch.gifdunno

    I'd say its dangerous...Thanks for sharing the grossnes...I think...:D

I have heard about different stuff to use to dislodge the tick, but I have
trouble pouring turpentine into a open wound.eek7.gif

But, I'm starting to think we need a Bug bite challenge.:D
