We were so lucky to be able to shoot at the park this early in the year. Luckily it was fairly overcast so made for easier picture taking. This was my 1st try at off camera flash! Comments welcome.

Thank you very much
Thanks! It is so crazy how you try so hard to notice those things at the time of the shoot. I actually caught tree branches in other poses but not these I guess Thanks again for looking!
HaHa, thanks for looking I really like #4 too. I tried a little bit of desaturation on this one, I really like how it turned out, it really made the background look neat.
Thanks, I was a little nervous about using the flash off camera but knew I could always go back to the way I was used to shooting if it didn't work. #4 was desaturated so it is a bit cooler. I kinda like how the background turned out in that shot.
I was cracking up at the guys jumping pictures, classic!!
I think you did a really good job. Nice colors, photos popped for the most part.
A couple things. Vary your locations a bit more if you can, that tree with the white flowers got worked over pretty good.
Watch the shadows on the people behind other people coming off the flash.
A LOT of your photos have a tilt to the left...I do the same thing so I really notice it.
Really good job I bet the couple getting married was WAY happy!

Thanks so much for looking at the gallery too! I agree on everything you said. As handy as the off camera flash is, I did notice some weird shadows when I got home, I will definitely be working on that. The group showed up an hour late (trying to figure out the best way to get people to show up on time??) so we were in a time crunch and the park we were at is really big so we didn't move around too much, just tried our best to get some good shots in. I was cracking up myself when I got home and seen the jump pictures, I was really wondering what some of the guys were thinking
Thanks again for the comments!!
When you can get guys to actively participate in the photos like that you can't lose....and the thinking part....well lets not get into that one lol.
I always tell them to be there 1/2 before I really need them and people are still appx. 1/2 hour late so that works pretty well.
I understand the lack of movement now. You made a good choice to get more pictures vs. more locations.

Can you describe what you used for your off-camera equipment and settings or approach?
Gracias!

Hello! I used two flashes, a Canon 430ex and a Canon 580ex. They were both on stands so that I could move them around. I always shoot in RAW and Manual mode. My processing is very simple, not much was done other than white balance and maybe some exposure changes and a lite vignette on some of the pics. Picture #4 was de-saturated a little.
Matt
Bodies: Canon 5d mkII, 5d, 40d
Lenses: 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f4.0L, 135 f2L, 85 f1.8, 50 1.8, 100 f2.8 macro, Tamron 28-105 f2.8
Flash: 2x 580 exII, Canon ST-E2, 2x Pocket Wizard flexTT5, and some lower end studio strobes
Thanks so much, I tried really hard to make it not noticible, so I'm glad you noticed
