Too much, or too too much?

C&C welcome.

I was at my parents' house in Geneseo, NY for a party and took these. Then I started playing around with saturation, and unfortunately had Pete Turner on the brain. Is it too much?

"Fields and farmhouses"

Here's a toned B&W:

"NY 1801 PC"

and, finally, a B&W of the first scene:

Thanks for looking.

I like the color ones, particularly the composition in the first one. thumb.gif
Colors look good to me. Basically you turned an eastern sky into a western one. nod.gif:D

The Pete Turner link was interesting. He's got some intriguing stuff there.

I like the first two a lot--not too much, IMO. The toned BW is nice, although the sky is just a tad too bright for me. I honestly don't care for the BW--maybe with more contrast I would like it.

I think the color ones are too much. I really like the toned B&W, and the other B&W, I agree, would look much better with a little more contrast.

    Nice shots, though!

Thanks to everyone who's responded ... looks like we're about evenly split between "too much" and "too too much." :D

Here's an attempt at a "more contrasty" b&w, and I turned up the vignetting while I was at it.

And a try at darkening the sky for the toned image:

I like these better. The B&W suddenly looks like a photo from the 40s or similar--I like it quite a bit.
