I'm going to try the blown sky background at supercross this weekend. I'm going to crank up the sat more.

The pix are well done but seem to lack drama and I don't have a suggestionne_nau.gif

It looked like flat light, the good news is you didn't have to deal with shadows.

Supercross is over for the year. So, I don't know how you are going to do that.

Really, please explain. Who builds supercross tracks every week for amatuers and where do they race? I believe what you are talking about is called Arenacross. That is where tracks are much smaller and usually inside something like a hockey or rodeo arena.

I guess the promoter of that series has no idea what Supercross is. I googled the Iron City track to look at it and hit is direct from their website:

Iron City Motorsports Park is conveniently located just off Interstate 85 in Blacksburg, South Carolina. Our track is located midway between Greenville, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina and features a 1.4 mile Motocross Track with large up and down hill sections, sweeping turns, and an 80 foot finish line.

SX is not run on MX tracks. That would be called MX.

Just to clear up what SX is, here is a definition from Encyclopedia Britannica:

Supercross, which began in the United States in the early 1970s, is an indoor version of motocross. Supercross is run on artificial dirt tracks constructed in large arenas. While courses are typically shorter than those in motocross, they feature more frequent and longer jumps.

    Thanks for the definition...
With that definition, I would definitely say that they have misnamed their series. I would agree that these are MX tracks.

I definitely do NOT ride MX!
    1. I'm not that brave/crazy!
    2. I like to keep at least one or both wheels on the ground.
    3. I'm not that young anymore (39).
    4. I like not having any broken bones! (Knock on wood!)
    5. I'm more of a "road" bike kind of guy.

I really like watching it though.

Yes,while that is all true...the fact remains that many of the larger track owners that have the land and can provide the funding, are building supercross tracks and have begun their own series of races which start in the evening and run into the night.

Budds Creek also has a stadium style track right beside the MX track and will be running the Night Supercross Aug.21st,the weekend of the Pro National.I'll be there for the National and might go a little early just to make sure that it's really there...lol

It may not have all the lights and glory...and the Monster Energy girls but it is still called "Supercross".
