I have embedded one of my slideshows into a iWeb page but for some reason when the page is visited the slideshow opens in a new page.

I am currently working on http://web.me.com/scottsharman/Site/ if you click on the top blog entry 'Darley Moor karts and bikes' you will see the fault.

any help would be appreciated

How are you opening that page? It's behaving as if you used the play slideshow button, which uses the full browser window.

What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to embed a slideshow within another page as opposed to in a standalone mode?

If you're trying to embed the slideshow within another site, have you tried using the embedded version of the shizam slideshow code? If that's what you're attempting, I've been publishing bits and pieces of how to information in a play blog - http://denisegoldbergplays.blogspot.com. I've also made the slideshow code available in text files that can be easily grabbed and modified, at http://sites.google.com/site/denisegoldbergplays/Home.

I probably mis-interpreted your question though. If I answered something that you didn't ask and didn't answer what you did ask... please ask again!

    Thanks for that Denise

Yes, I am trying to embed a flash slideshow into a html frame in iWeb. I have followed the Shizam tutorial but for some reason it does not display.

That's a totally unknown environment for me. Are you using the second set of code shown on the wiki page? Does it look like the code on the sites.google.com page that I referenced before? (Sorry for the silly questions, but using Firefox web dev on your page isn't showing me the source code...).

Sorry, but SmugMug can't run in a frame. You would have to directly embed the slideshow following the instructions here.
