Is there a difference between sunset and sunrise pictures? I think so! So i figured it would be cool to have both Sunrise and Sunset picture threads going for comparison. Anyone out there have any good Sunrise pictures? heres one from me

Nice ones, Phil - both of them in a different way.
I have a couple similar to your second one. Both were taken out my back door within a couple of days of each other around Christmas 2004. My good wife noticed the second opportunity and called me to the window, bless her heart
As with sunsets, the best colors are when the sun is maybe 15-20 minutes below the horizon. By the time it rises, most of the color is gone. And, if you're trying to catch a great sunset and leave when the sun dips below the horizon, you have given up way too early.
This sunset shot posted in the other thread was taken when the sun was at least 15 minutes below the horizon. What looks like the sun is actually a hole in the clouds that caught the sun's rays from below the horizon:
Just my little tip for sunrises and sunsets.

Being on holiday, we didn't see as many sunrises, but the ones we saw were just beautiful.

But early sun anyway!

The sun was just coming up on a foggy morning as I took an early morning walk up my favorite hill near my home.
As the sun got up a little higher...
Got the lens flare in this one, but I like it

This is Andershus Pier in Oslo, Norway a few weeks ago. Our ship had just tied up to the pier and you can see the tie lines on the lower left.

Im not sure how many people are new here and have never seen these before, for those that have seen them before sorry. Here are three of my favorites from Iraq. And yes I was up at sunrise very easily because I just went to my room and got my camera on my way home from a night shift for a couple months. These were all taken in Tikrit
Ok heres a fourth and my all time favorite..
