The back lighting is good in 1 & 2 but your wife is taking away attention from your son. ( You've got a very cute family!! ) The shot of both of them toward the end is just great. Last one is gonna get you in trouble with your wife showing her tummy. Crop it quick before she see's it.

Hey congrats on the new little one on the way! Good job getting her to pose while preggo! I refused all photos while I was PG and now I sort of regret it. But the shot needs a little PP to get rid of the gas meter ...

Did you know you can add more flare in post? Filter>Render>Lens Flare
It is much more fun to get it in camera, but if you don't and want to go for that look anyhow, you still can!

My favorite of the set is #4, cause those trees in the background are fun and sparkley... but I don't usually go for ones of the backs of heads...

    Fun shots...love 1 and 2 (and of course 5). thumb.gif

Just a noob....so pardon the question about the technique...but did you shoot with the sun behind your subject while using exposure compensation?

    thanks all.clap.gif

Is the lens flare filter a PS thing? I have light room only heh..I suppose I could do it with the brush tool in LR. Also I debated on the gas meter..I actually kinda liked it so i kept it in.

I really like #5 Qarik (perfect coloring) except for one thing. The way you have composed the shot, the plant and flowers make a third subject in the photo, equal to the two guys. It needs to be more background, I think. Shifting the guys a little more center might help + CS3 lens blur on the plant-flowers? (Clone/crop out the renegade light pink flower top left?)

Thanks for the input NeilL. Now that you mention the renegade flower..I can't stop looking at it. It might be worth a clone.

Whiterice..yes the sun was behind the subject. I didn't use exposure compensation per se (+/-EV) because I was shooting full manual. I did over expose a touch through my light meter and fined tuned in PP.

I like 5 and 6, but I have to agree, 1 and 2 are a bit cluttered. Your wife is very beautiful and should be in the forground with your son. The fact that she's blured out makes the background too busy. If she was in focus, that would add to the image instead of taking away from it.

    Great job all around though.
