Suggestion: Water-Resistant, Stiffer Packaging

I suggest an option for a water-resistant, stiff internal packaging for placement of prints in Fedex packaging. Recently, I ordered 8x10" prints for a baseball team's senior day (today). The lower left hand corner has liquid damage and has been bent. Within the Fedex packaging, the folder containing the prints showed some (lesser) signs of bending and liquid damage. The prints show slighter bending in the same corner. A water-resistant or waterproof packaging that is a bit stiffer might prevent similar damage in the future.

Thanks. I talked with the coach who wanted to use the prints (because senior night was that night) and it isn't as noticeable in the frames as just a pure print. My main interest was in considering an option for times when packages get wet.

I second the call for better packaging. My last 11x14 had a large crease through the middle, and the smaller prints in the same package had bent corners. This was UPS to Australia.

Did you order from Bay Photo ear.gif

    Packaging

Packing at every lab we tested was far superior to consumer labs. Prints are packed flat, shrink-wrapped, and padded.

We've read that WHCC has had some growing pains. We did receive one batch of damaged 8x10s from them.

Bay Photo's packages stood out. They're packed with surgical precision and shippers will have a very tough time damaging them. The only complaint we can imagine is the determination it takes to break into your own box.

No, this was from EZ Prints. The US-AUS exchange rate at the moment makes Bay Photo less competitive with local pro labs. That packaging looks good though.
