There are Gobs of alternatives. Export your JPGs and use MacDaddy. Or our Simple Uploader. Both are really fast
I've got a lot of galleries (and some with the same name) but the plugin lists all album in one single list which makes it difficult to find the correct album and since there is no hierarchical info I don't know which album is which.
I'm currently using MacDaddy but thought it would be nice to upload directly form within Aperture (the iPhoto plugin works very nicely)
There is no Aperture export plugin other than ApertureToSmugmug. I get slightly frustrated with ApertureToSmugmug too because there are some features which I would really like to see included but it is no longer in active development. Some of those features include the ability to include as keywords both lens data and data stored in Aperture’s IPTC location fields. These are features that were in Fraser Speirs’*Flickr Export for Aperture, which I used when I was hosting photos on Flickr, and which now I miss having gone over to Smugmug and the (IMO) inferior ApertureToSmugmug.

Yep, FlickrExport is really nice and I use it, and I really wish that there was something similar for SmugMug. I've played with other export plugins for other services but nothing comes close to FlickrExport.
(perhaps SmugMug could commission Fraser Speirs to design and write a plugin for SmugMug )

I've got Picasa installed but I don't like it. The program I like most is Aperture and this is where I keep all my images.
