This truly sets new heights for obnoxious watermarking.

My only comment about the photos is that your watermark is giving me a headache. Try again, I'd love to see them.

Invest in a reflector, use it to either add or subtract light. You have several shots where there are splotches on her face or she is squinting because the light is too harsh. Also, try bouncing your flash for indoor shots if you can't shoot near an open window for natural lighting.
Watch your scenery in the background when setting up a shot, poles out of heads, etc...start with those things and then work on posing. Just shoot LOTS...that's how you learn! Keep it up!!wings.gif

I like all the poses and settings;c nice selection. The harsh shadows on some of the pictures have ruined what was otherwise a great shot. Also hot light on other have had same effect. Reflector suggestion above is right on!

#1 and #3 are really quite good for your first time at this.

As stated, some of the others suffer from harsh shadows and uneven lighting due to you shooting in bright sun.

Find some shade (like in #1) or shoot earlier or later in the day.

    Thanks for fixing the watermarks.clap.gif

Thank you all for your suggestions and yes I know I wanted to shoot later but that was the only time she could do it. And yes he was right on about the reflector. I usually shoot sports but would love to do more portaits. All I can do is keep shooting and learning. Thanks again!!

Mid day sunlight can be killer. I should know, I've learned the hard way recently. Laughing.gif

If that is the only time a client can do it, then definetly select a location that lends to a lot of shade. Reflector is another good option, but I don't seem to have a ton of luck with it..only because I don't usually have someone that can help me hold it. I use the reflector a lot to block the sun for close shots. ;)

You've got a good start, just follow the advice of the other posters and practice practice.thumb.gif
