Can some one give me a helping hand? Maybe a give me a crutch on shooting birds where I don't have to sit and read a computer screen?

I've read the shooting tips but they didn't mention anything about what to use as shutter speed, what mode to use and all the good tid bits.

We have a short wildlife photography tutorial here.

The best book on wildlife photography that I've seen is Artie Morris' "The Art of Bird Photography". You an order a copy here.

A good idea would be to post some of captures with their exif data and we can get a better idea of where you're going "wrong".

There's no magic bullet for getting better captures, the keys are understanding the light, your camera, and just getting some experience.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
