my camera click reset?

I have a 40D...I noticed my file naming reset to IMG_0001.cr2

I'm not sure why. I look at when the file naming actually reverted back to 1 and I don't remember changing lenses, memory cards or settings because I was continuously shooting at the time. Any thoughts on why this would have happened? I guess I just need to manually set it back to whatever click I was on?

Congrats it appears you just hit your 10,000th click. clap.gif

That was where my 30d rolled over anyway.

Yep, the pic counter has only 4 digits. However, the folder names (within the DCIM folder) have three digits. The first digit indicates how many times the counter has rolled over, while the second two are the first two digits of the pic numbers in the folder. You should also be aware that if you first used the camera with a card that had been used previously, it may not have started at zero.
