Salt Lake Supercross
Here are some shots from the SLC Supercross. This is my first attempt at shooting under stadium lights. It is soooo bright, but really soooooooo dark! By the end of the night I was up to my limit of ISO 3200 trying to keep the speed up. These were shot with a 80-200AFS 2.8 and my stock nikon 18-105. I switched to the 18-105 and it was a mistake. I ended up near the end of it's range a lot and this pushed it up close to f6. I guess it was good practice for panning.
I used spot metering, continuous focus, and the 3D tracking function on my D90. These are as shot only a few are cropped at all.
We had some good seats! Next year if it comes to SLC again I need to figure out how to get a press pass! It was a great race and a challenge to photograph.
