I like to post my travel pictures in my blog, accompanied with some text. In order to do that I have to retrieve a large number of smugmug photo links to put them in the blog post. Unfortunately there is no easy way to do this - I've been doing this manually for a while but have recently figured out a more efficient way to do this. Now I can create an html page with all the photos from a given SM gallery of any size in about 1 minute. Someone wrote an app for Mac that does a similar thing but i have not been able to find one for Windows (incidentally it's the first and only time this happened to me
Here are the steps in case anybody else cares:
1. Download and install OutWit Hub Firefox addin here: <A href="http://www.outwit.com/">http://www.outwit.com/</A>
2. In Firefox load a SM gallery and view it in the All Thumbs View
3. Launch OutWitHub from Firefox and go to the images tab. Select all the photo thumbnails (leave all the SM imagery unselected).
4. Right click on the selection and Export Selection As: Microsoft Excel File
5. Download the Excel template I created from here: <A href="http://www.divshare.com/i/7250232-1bc">http://www.divshare.com/i/7250232-1bc</A>
6. Paste the thumbnail urls from the OutWit export file into my template file Column B (originals). I normally post in size L - if you want to pick a different size, amend the cell E1 to the appropriate size.
7. The list of url's is ready for copy/pasting in column G (yellow)
8. If you want to copy it into Frontpage - you have to do it via Windows Notepad since Frontpage will copy the selection as a table instead of plain html.
