Morning / afternoon / evening.

Quick question for the internet guys in the know, I'm on a PC and have used IE since day one, personally I get very few errors etc but keep reading about how good firefox is in relation to IE. Have just upgraded to 50mb fibre optic broadband and want to get the best use out of it I can so. . . . .

IE or Firefox? and why.

Thanks in advance

.DAVID.

Hi, David. I'm no geek, but I can tell you my experience. I use both.

I love Firefox, but Firefox usually crashes on me when I'm uploading to SmugMug. So I use IE for uploads, Firefox for everything else.

I have no idea why this only happens with FF.

    My .02.

Simple fix, Sara :D I'm sorry to hear you are having problems uploading your photos!

We have found that updating your current installation of java will typically resolve this issue.

Follow these steps to make sure your java is up to date for a PC:

    1) Go to http://www.java.com

    2) Click on "Do I have Java?" and wait for the test to run.

    3) Follow the steps to get the latest version of Java if you need it.

Please let us know if you continue to have problems.

Hi, I can't believe anyone who tries Firefox would choose IE over Firefox. It's an amazingly superior browser in 1,000,000 ways.

    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html

Of course, SmugMug fully supports IE. IE6, IE7, IE8 as well as Firefox and Safari.

It's really great to see the percentage of visitors using Firefox climb so dramatically.

So many people sware by Firefox, but I'd still keep a copy of IE on your computer just in case. There are a few websites that you will find along the way that will not work in Firefox. For some ungodly reason they were written for IE only. Go figure.

Thanks, Andy. Done. It wasn't such a bad problem - as long as I remembered to use IE for big uploads.

Now at least I won't have to think about that anymore.

How can we be sure? We might have to set up a study and produce a documentary film on this subject. :D
