If i send one photo to a person via email link from a locked catagorie why is they have an option to view the entire gallery as if it were unlocked?

IS there a way to prevent this?

There is no such thing as a locked category. Galleries can have passwords on them, but Smugmug doesn't have a feature to have a password on a category. Do you mean that you send someone a link to a photo in a password protected gallery and then they could see the whole gallery? Are you sure? I have not seen that to be the case.

Yes I'm sorry I have a gallery password protected and I sent a link to one photo out of a password protected gallery and they were able to see the entire gallery

I can't reproduce this on my account. When I send someone a link to an individual photo, they are prompted for the password and can't get in without supplying the password. For anyone to look into this further, you will probably have to offer an example where this happens so we can diagnose.

Do you realize that you can't test this out yourself in your own browser. Once you have entered the password for that gallery or if you are logged in, that password is cached locally so you won't be challenged for it. This would nor be the same for someone who had never previously supplied the password to that gallery. They would be challenged for the password and it would be required before they could view anything.

I have this exact problem right now! It's only happening to my newly created galleries (it appears my older galleries still require a password to obtain access for viewing).

I'm not logged into my account. I received an email from someone I sent the link to and they responded that they were not prompted to key in a password and gained access as if no password existed.

    Please help.
