My1348 hectare backyard

A virtual stones throw (30 steps) from my backdoor is Calgary’s Fish Creek Provincial Park.
One of North America’s largest urban parks and quite possible could be the largest.

To put it into perspective it is 1348 hectares or 3330 acres big!
New York’s Central Park is 843 acres.

Fish Creek is 19km or 11 miles long and even when its borders end the parkland continues.

So with this as my backyard it is no wonder that I use it as my main photographic subject.
I feel my best shots have come from this location and today was no exception.

I am no photographer extraordinaire however I am learning so you no doubt will spot flaws. Feel free to comment critique crop or post edit any of these shots .

It is all a part of my learning process.

So here is a small compilation of this year to date at Fish Creek Provincial Park ending with today.

My best tree shot I think I will hug this tree for rewarding me with this photo.

It seemed winter would never end.

Enough with winter here are some from today a bit of flora and a bit of fauna

Next notice natures camouflage look 3/4 bottom right of this photo.

Well I hope you enjoyed these and I hope I have not bored you with Fish Creek Provincial Park. It will continue to be my most shot at model.

Cheers,
Tim

I like #5. Makes winter look cold and harsh.

Another for #5... fix the purple glare just a little and that is a BIG winner!

My favorite is #1. Love the mist.

Erik, how do you fix the purple glare? I kind of like it in the trees. But, I would like to know how to get rid of it.

Now thats putting me on the spot... I agree, i like the purple "fringe" around the sun itself, but those two kind of "stripes" caused by lens flare down through the right side of that island of trees is a little distracting - again, just opinion. Being a hack, I would go in and use the clone stamp tool, sparingly of course.
