I'm willing to pay up to $60 on top of the trade for the IS version, depending on the condition of your lens...
I think the problem you face is that most who have an IS version know it takes sharper photos than the non IS version (that's been my personal experience)so they would feel its a backward step, I know I won't be swapping my 18 -55mm IS for the non IS version any time soon.
One has to ask the question, why do you want to take a backward step ??
