FZ30 flash

I am looking at a flash unit for a friends FZ30 and found this at B&H is it any good?

If it were me I would be looking for a DEDICATED flash for the camera instead of a generic flash.......the GN of the above flash is very small .....so to me that is no better than the pop up flash........here is a couple of dedicated flashes that might serve your friend better

Thanks for the reply Art, But the FZ30 requires a non dedicated flash, on my FZ20 I used a sunpac 286 I think. But it has long since been sold and I can't see a similar unit on B&H.

That previous flash you had was probably the Vivitar 285HV and they were discontinued for a while but are back in production again and they are a very nice "auto" and manual flash:
