Dwarf Iris Macro and LR2 Fun

I've finally had some time to shoot at our local arboretum and get down to really learning Lightroom2. So, here's one of my first macro attempts along with Lightroom adjustments.
My main difficulty has been not clipping highlights. I ended up stopping down much farther than my in-cam meter said was good but the result was virtually no clipping! Of course these flowers are not naturally very saturated.
EXIF:
Nikon D90 | Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 Macro | ISO 200 | 1/100 at f/6.3
Non-edited RAW capture and resize (left) | After LR adjustments and resize (right)

A Nikon D90 plus some Nikon, Sigma & Tokina lenses.

I often take natural light closeups with -.66 Ev set to prevent blowouts and then recover any under exposure during RAW processing.

I normally shoot full manual so EV is a bit of a mystery to me.
I did do some tests of it that day however.
