How can I upload pictures?

I've been taking wildlife photos at the highest setting my camera offers. When trying to upload at Digital Grin I always find the files are to big to upload. What is the best way to reduce this using my editing software. I use either Iphoto or Adobe essentials

Thanks for any help

I'm using a Macbookpro. Maybe someone can explain (in simple terms) how to get a picture from my mac to a post.

    Hi Gopher!

The best way to post images on DGrin is to first upload them to a photo sharing website like smugmug.com, photobucket.com, flickr.com, etc. and then embed them using UBB code. If you want to attach the pictures to a post they must be quite small - Jpegs need to be no bigger than 146.5 KB with dimensions no bigger than 800x1200. Gifs must be no bigger than 97.7KB with the sam dimensions as Jpegs. Resizing the photos so that they fit this criteria generally causes a pretty noticable loss of quality.

Check out this thread - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=117 and the linked tutorial for everything you need to know about posting photos on DGrin from a smugmug account. It's pretty similar even if you host at another site.
