I'm taking pictures of my daughter and her netball team-mates over this season and the results (link) will be forwarded to all parents to view. Currently, I think I am using the 'Sports' category and creating a new gallery based on the date I shot the pictures. This is cumbersome meaning the parents cannot see 'all' the pictures in one gallery. Would I be abale to create a sub-cat called, say "St Bennys" then all the weekly shots by date taken (separate gallery) in 'St Bennys'? This way all the parents need to do is access 'St Bennys' and all the weekly galleries are in there for them to select and view.
Now I email them the link to each gallery meaning that if they want to see pics of 2 weeks ago, they need to find my email for the link.
Did I just complicate things?:dunno

Sports (category)
....Team Name (sub-category)
........ Gryphon Scrimmage - 3-22
........ Mustang Outlaws - 4-4
........ Livermore Crush - 4-5
I just send out the link to the sub-category (which is the same every week) announcing that there is a new gallery with this week's game pictures in it. In my case, I give every gallery the same password since some parents are more comfortable with password protection and giving them all the same password means a viewer only has to enter the password once for all galleries.
You can see how the sub-category looks here: http://friend.smugmug.com/Sports/744243 (though all the galleries themselves are password protected).

Thanks John
Stupid question John. How do I send the link to the sub-category? I can only see the link to send for the 'Gallery' via the 'Share' feature.

Alternatively, I can make the galleries public which will be displayed via my site below but password protect it just like you?

Mine are public and password protected. That's how I do it. If they aren't public, then you can't do it this way.
If they are unlisted instead of public, then you would have to group them into a sharegroup and send the sharegroup link to them.
