I hope someone here knows. My brother got these shots a couple of days ago. He says it does not have the neck of an egret or heron. We can't find it in our books, but we may just be wrong. That iridescent blue face/bill is really throwing us off. It was here in north Texas, but we get birds from all over in migration. Bittern… heron… somewhere in that group? We are not sure. But I would bet one of you knows! My guess was little blue heron, but he isn't sure because of the neck.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks Harry! We never convince my brother, but I feel better. :whew ( I searched for several hours for something else and it kept coming back to a little blue)

    I can sleep now!
