I feel like service has been out most of the day...
I just shot two huge weddings this past weekend. I handed out hundreds of business cards to the wedding guests directing them to my website so that they could view engagement photos of the bride and groom today (and wedding photos in a couple of weeks). I've already received several emails from unhappy wedding guests asking why my web site is down because they want to view the B&G's engagement photos. Handing out business cards to wedding guests is one of my primary avenues of advertising and need to make a good first impression. Undoubtedly, dozens of wedding guests have tried unsuccessfully to access my web site today and would not recommend my services to their friends. Unacceptable! PULL IT TOGETHER SMUGMUG!
Well the outage message is gone now... just the "We're having some temporary difficulties. We expect full service to resume shortly. Sorry! Status Updates" message now.
on the STATUS UPDATES pagei would really like to see posting times......I understand the top one is most recent but if it had a time stamp we could see when it was posted and how long it has been posted ....which in turn would let us know how bad things are............
Clicking on each individual post will bring you to a page that includes posting times. Unfortunately, it doesn't state what time zone they are using. It might be GMT, but I'm not sure.

Yeah, I was going to complain about the lack of a timestamp on the front page as well as the lack of a time zone (which I think you're right about -- [post=1103790]Andy's Dgrin post[/post] was at 6:12PM PDT and his Status Updates blog post was at 1:11AM) but I already gave Andy such a hard time about posting I thought I'd let it slide.
It was a crappy day and I went to catch 4 hours of sleep. During said 4 hours the only blog-posters were Don and Wireless and They were fighting the good fight, sorry.
The timestamps are full on single post views. I'll look at new themes.

Andy - I was actually referring my comments about the blog during [post=1100916]the downtime last week[/post], not last night. I only found out about the outages because I'm subscribed to the status feed via e-mail.
I hope the links for the timezones and themes save you some time.

Ah... I should always look before I post. Thanks for implementing the changes.
But guh, I've now learned that WordPress sucks. They don't include a time zone, and even if you try to use a Custom Time Format it thinks you're in Greenwich. Stupid, and not your fault.
Also annoying, it appears to store the dates for the posts in your local timezone, so after the change, your last post was properly timestamped at 1:11AM, but the previous ones were posted when the settings were still set to GMT, so 4:54AM still shows, and the posts are out of order.
Again, nothing you can do (unless you wanted to go back and manually edit the publish dates on previous posts, which seems silly, except maybe for just the ones from yesterday).
Moving forward all should be well. But meh, kind of sucky that the tool handles timestamps so poorly.
I'm still essentially not able to function. I read the report and it says Service is Normal but it is not normal for me yet. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated,
Im having tons of problems uploading can not do freezes after a couple of pictures no matter what uploader I use...my clients are trying to enlarge their pictures cant do that either I have wasted all day trying to get 50 pictures up two or three at a time deleting and uploading for a school that was emailing me like crazy! This is getting very aggrivating!

Hi Angela, We'll have a hero contact you with some diagnostics - your issues sound connection related.
Hang tight.
Whoops. You didn't make the time zone change. I thought you had, but you simply had not updated the blog. So uh, disregard my comments below, except for the part where I thank you for picking a theme with front-page timestamps and berate WordPress for not properly storing timestamps.
Maybe you should just leave the Timezone as is and just Customize the Time Format so that at least people can see it's GMT and do the math in their head. Here's the string:

This is certainly becoming a problem, so much downtime for one month. Really unlike Smugmug.......

But since others have brought it up... :-}
Timezone is an easy fix. Set it under General Settings:
http://support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/
I think UTC-7 (PDT) makes the most sense, since that's where SmugMug HQ is located.
As for the timestamps showing up on the front page, that appears to be theme-specific. Thankfully somebody has already done the annoying work of identifying themes that do have timestamps:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/themes-with-without-time-stamp?replies=15
I think I would go with "Pool" or "Silver is the New Black".
You're welcome. :-}
