about them birds" these two young gentlemen visiting the Alligator Farm asked me as I tried to set up a shot. I asked them "do you think they are fascinating"?
They replied "No, they are only some damn birds" they replied with a look I used to get from my army buddies when I interspersed some Beethoven and Aaron Copeland selections with my Jefferson Airplane and Rolling Stones tunes.

as they walked away one said "lets hurry they are about to feed the gators". To each his own.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

lol3.gif Great story and a really nice set of shots, harry. Dunno why, but the color and exposure on these seems a little different - is it because it was cloudy? Whatever the reason, I think they rock.

    :lol4 Harry,

Too funny!:lol4 I'm with you on the gators....you and I walked right past the hundreds of fat ugly species without giving even a second glance. I personally think it is a shame we have to be subjected to them on the way to the rookery!

    Super!!!!clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif shots...the snowy is PERFECT!

Thanks Sid. Good catch on the lighting. The day was miserable and one I would not normally have shot on. I had out of state shooters with me so this was their only chance to shoot at the rookery. It rained for most of the day and the skies were mostly gray and the light was very low.

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the kind words. I don't know what it looks like when they feed the gators. I don't find them fascinating. roflol.gif

Out of the thousands of shots I've taken at the alligator Farm I think maybe 5 have gators in them.

Thanks Eric. I figure that gator was about 5 yards away when I took the shot. When you shoot in the rookery at the gator farm you are on a boardwalk thats a few feet above the water which is filled with gators. :D

    Hey Trish,

Imagine the nerve of them putting gators in a place called the Alligator Farm!!!
One of these days I will have to take a few minutes out and look at some of the other exhibits. Just a few minutes though.
