Nikon D300 issue
Guys , I have a problem and need some help.
I have a d300 and today I received a Nikon 85mm 1.4d AF lens. It is currently the only lens I have here with me, but my problem is that the aperture on the camera is stuck a f7. If I manual change aperture via the aperture ring on the lens it will change, but I cannot change it on the camera. I also cannot get the camera to auto focus. If I manually focus the lens, it works fine.
I have made sure that on the csm controls, m is not slected.

No dice. I dont know what else to think other than something is wrong with the camera. When I manually set the aperture to 1.4 on the lens it reads as f/0 on the camera.

When I hit the DOF button, I can hear the camera click into action. I can also remove the lens and turn the aperture ring and see the blades opening and closing.
Turn off your camera. Take the lens off the camera and set it to the smallest aperture (f16 on that lens) and lock it there. Then mount the lens on the camera and turn the camera on. You should be able to adjust the aperture on your camera body at this point. Do not adjust the aperture setting on the lens.
I'm assuming you have the camera on manual or aperture priority.

The only reason I changed the aperture on the lens was to see if it was a lens problem. Right now I have it locked on the lens at f/16, but the camera shows f7 and will not let me change it in aperture priority or manual mode.
Do you have access to any other lens you could try on the body?

Yes, I tried another lens on the camera and it did the same thing. It is on its way in for repair.
