Watermarks will not change, error?

I've watermarked a gallery on my page with a large red arrogant watermark and want to replace it with a more subtle version that i've made.
I have uploaded the update and made into a watermark.

I've tried watermarking with the new one several times since about 6:00 P.M. tonight and the red watermark remains. I have given it hours to update, but still, the red remains.

Is there an error going on with the servers and such (since they just came back up recently) that are not allowing the watermark change?

Am I doing something wrong?

Should I "remove watermark" first then go back with the updated version?
(I don't want to do this because clients could potentially find the images within that window of no watermark and abuse them)

Help!:dunno

From my experience, yes, you have to remove the watermark, refresh the gallery, then add the new watermark, refresh the gallery, THEN clear your browser cache and try again ... Should work.

    It sucks... :(

From my experience, yes, you have to remove the watermark,

I change mine pretty frequently and have never cleared the previous watermarks. Some times it takes a little while for it to convert all the images, but that is to be expected.

The watermark .png file is 1600x800 in size. Does that matter?
It shows up on the "customize watermark" preview, but it will not apply to images. And now the Red watermark will not even come off.
Maybe I'll just have to delete the gallery...

Have you just given it time to do one change? If you keep trying over and over to change it, it'll take longer and longer.

There's only like 10 images in the gallery. I've been waiting foir 6.5 hours now. I still see red...I'm just wondering if it's an error due to the recent maintenance.

edit: Stop the press! It miraculously started working now. Instantly, too. I say "watermark image" and presto, it's done. Must've been an issue on the servers.

One thing I have done is to have two copies of the same watermark. For example watermark1 watermark1a.

If you have weirdness on a gallery such as you described, rather than removing and leaving a window of opportunity for non watermark pics. Simply select the 2nd version of watermark and apply that. Saves me from quite a bit of anxiety... I tend to already suffer from enough of that on my own!
