my first Raft Spider of the year, shot at fenns & whixhall mosses on the shropshire/wales border.one of uks rarest spiders. they live in peat bogs and pools, perfectly camoflaged in the peat stained waters. they hunt above & below the water, even eating dragonflys!
this one was nearly adult, 1 skin shed to go. about 2.5 inch leg span.
all shot with 100mm except last frame.
