Herons, lush green, slight post work
This is the exception the last week, or so, or the last few days, I have been working on myself not to saturate, for reasons too complicated...........but this is a bit of whimsy I put on the Danger Challenge. This is pretty natural folliage, with pop, but not excessive. IMO. I did it fast this afternoon, so I know how I did it. In fact, when I realized that I was going to put it into my personal favorites, I decided that it needed more pop, went back, put it in curves and did a slight curve. This is really the color of evening coming on. It is very bright onto the birds, the fwd folliage in this place, but behind is the background folliage, that is naturally dark, not hit by the setting sun.
The ISO is still 800, I probably turned it to 1600 shortly after this, I don't really remember. I do it if I try to get one in the air. It is f11, 420mm. I was putting the 2x s extender on and off. 1/400th second.

After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

I like this pic. IMHO The greens are just right not so bright that they take away from the birds and not so dull that they make the whole pic look dark.
Now maybe I'm missing something but were in the heck are their necks and heads?

It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you're not.

Here the biggest thing I did was take out those white spots which are egrets and add some pop. I might have used levels and saturation, then curves, but with a lighter touch, than I admit that I sometimes use. I would not worry about printing this one. That is a gain. But I love some of the ones from i'On where I have manipulated the green, too.
I don't know what I should have done with the bird on his path, I will go do something, and see. ginger (Usually, I do not like complicated PS work.)
