I've had my Pro site for over a year now. Yet when I google my name, my website does not show up. My website is www.erbemanphotos.com and my name is Russ Erbe. My name is in the About Me section of my site. So, I figured eventually the webcrawlers would find it and show my website as a result when my name is Googled. How can I make this happen?

    It would help a lot to put info into your bio for searching purposes - including your name. This can be within a div that is set to display: none;. And by bio, I mean your bio box, not a gallery called About.

    Info on that and more at http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Maximize+Search+Engine+Findability. I recommend that you follow all of the suggestions on that wiki page.

    If I search for Erbeman photos, your site comes up first on the page. It unfortunately shows your slideshow parameters on the google page because that's what starts your bio box. Add descriptive text as I noted above and that problem will go away.

    Denise, thanks for your help. I'm not a html guy at all. Here is everything that is in my Bio Box:

    <html>
    ********>
    var ssConfig = {
    AlbumID: '6132213',
    newWindow: 'false',
    transparent: 'true',
    showLogo: 'false',
    clickUrl: 'http://www.smugmug.com',
    showThumbs: 'false',
    showButtons: 'false',
    crossFadeSpeed: '350',
    randomStart: 'true'
    };
    SM.flash.insertSlideshow(730, 533, ssConfig, 'transparent');
    </********
    </html>

    Could you either tell me where and exactly what to add or just type it in so I could copy and paste it back inot my Bio Box? Thanks again

    Go to the help page for the slideshow at http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Flash+Slideshow. Scroll down to the first GOTCHA, Add Text To Your Bio So Your Search Results Look Better - there are instructions and an example there.

    I did this a week ago and it worked well on doing a smugmug search. However, I was not worried about that. I want my website to show up when my name is Googled. It's been a week and it still doesn't. Any ideas of what else I can do?
