Going to be in and around the LA Convention Center all of next week, what kind of cool stuff can I find with-in walking distance? (not getting a car, shuttle to the hotel which is walking distance to the Convention Center)
Looking at Google Maps, I'm thinking Walt Disney Concert Hall, City Hall, Pershing Square, maybe Little Tokyo, anything else I should be looking for?

Union Station, Olvera Street, Staples Center, The Biltmore Hotel is across from Pershing Square. You could walk the old shopping district on Broadway. The Central Library and Chinatown is a shuttle ride away too. That will keep you busy enough. I'd consider being low key and stay north of the convention center after dark.

at the top of City Hall. You have to go through security, but there's no
problem with camera gear.
Definitely check out Disney Concert Hall.
One building that is definitely worth a visit is the Bradbury Building.
It's the "Blade Runner" building. Located at 3rd and Broadway
on the southeast corner.
Lots of street photography on Broadway.
Also some classic movie houses on Broadway, though they are
not all open to the public.
Chinatown is also near downtown.
Agree with ChatKat on all her suggestions.
There may be some good skyline opportunities from the bridges
that cross over the 110 Freeway at 3rd or 4th street. You'd have
to scout it out.
You might want to drag a friend along if doing night photography.
Good luck with your shooting.

I think I need to make a Google Maps overlay and list this stuff on it so I don't forget, plus it will be easy to group things together as I'm going. Thank you both very much!

I also liked shooting at the 6th St bridge. It's considered a historic
viaduct. It goes over the LA River.
You might want to check out the LA Conservancy Website, they run
walking tours in the downtown area.
Some LA photos on my SM gallery.
