How do you create a watermark

Ii would like to create a watermark and I don't know how. i don't want just words typed on the photo, i want the kind that looks imprinted that I can save and put on my images easily. how is this done in PS Elements?

    Do a Google search for "embossed text photoshop elements" and it will show you how to do something more than plain text. Then, instead of putting the text onto a specific image like these tutorials will show, you create an empty transparent layer as your first layer, then put the text in a new layer above that. You can then adjust the opacity of the text to make it partially transparent. Then, save your resulting image as a PNG with transparency. You can then use that as your watermark file after you upload it as a watermark to Smugmug.
