How do I post an active link in a comment?

I have been trying to post links to my pictures in some comments I've left on another photographer's picture. The link is posted, but it is not active. When I post a link on my pbase site, it is always active. What I am doing wrong here? Many thanks.

    We made this not possible, since there can be bad things done by html in comments. I'm really sorry.

    Thanks for the prompt reply. I thought it was something I was doing wrong. I guess the only way to refer others to a specific image when posting a comment is to just insert its URL and let the viewer copy the dead link on to their browser and get to it that way.
