Model photographer photographs children????!

I've shot children for events like the march of dimes or for families with loved ones in Iraq, but a personal session with one child and her mother... ya, not my normal thing.

I'm used to processing things for weddings and magazines but to process for young children and mothers is something new and this is my take on what I see the big boys doing (like many of the great shooters here on this forum) until I find a style of my own that I feel comfortable with.

Let me know what you think and some of the photos are centered but man kids are quick and I couldn't help but rely on sport style shooting vs. composition as expression matters more to me from a child than other things.

These are my fav's :)

there isn't a single one on here that I personally would not be happy with. All of these are fantastic! I love the depth of field and the sparkle in the babies yes. I love that you can see the two little teeth. Great captures of expressions on here to.thumb.gif

These are great. They show personality and good expressions. I love the sparkle in her eyes in #2, and her face framed by the bonnet. There's something very "wise beyond her years" in her expression in #3.

    Keep shooting kids!

You have found your style even if you don't know it yet. These are very nice intimate images. I think any mother would be thrilled with these.

FWIW...being a child photographer...you made the connections...nice bokeh, great angles and captured the child's connectivity with mom and camera. The processing is current yet not over the top. These are quite nice and yes, mom will flip. Well done.

They are great! the mom should love them! The only one I would change is #8. I would crop in close to that cute face since her arm is cut off at the hand. I think the limb rule is especially important when shooting kids. Parents don't like to see limbs cut off :D
