red damselfly hatching

Lucky enough to spot part of the sequence of a red damselfly emergence yesterday. Unfortunately it was on the underside of a leaf about 6" above the water which made the angles/exposures difficult especially when the wings expanded.

Very interesting to see the changes take place. Hard to believe it all took place within a few hours.
