Hi All,
I am a sports photographer ( and photo restorer ) and shot my first wedding in the fall. I am being pushed into doing more just not sure if I really want to. I enjoy creating the art but dealing with brides and the mother of brides is not on the top of my 'want to do' list.

Anyway, I think my work holds up and would welcome any C and C.

I thought a customized flash book w.ould be a nice way to present my work.

George

I like the flash book, I like the double page spreads except for the ones with the faces on the fold.
The second? picture in the book, the processing is very dark and gloomy, other than that I like all the rest.

Nice work and I like the idea of displaying it. A few of the pictures are a tad blue (nothing white balance tweaking can't fix) but otherwise you've got some really great stuff in here considering it was your first wedding.

Nice idea...nice work...but the crease in the middle...I wouldn't show that to a potential bride and groom...get it right and show them a finished product where the crease doesn't cut right through the most important picture in the book...the brides face. You also might want to put a little more into the book...multiple shots per page...back grounds for the pages, etc. A bit more on the design aspect to show off your potential.

Just a suggestion. But, I think it would make a better impression.
Remember, no one may want you to take pictures, but they all want to see them.

i think your images lack cohesion, especially in the beginning 1/3 of the album (ie. the spread i'm attaching). the cover could use some work as well. i thought that flash books were a novel idea as well. the feedback i got from brides to be was that they were too lazy to click or drag the page and preferred photo montages to them.

on the other hand, i would say bravo for a first wedding. wedding photography is a labor of love. i tell everyone this: no one paraded around as a little kid saying "i want to be a wedding photographer when i grow up!" mwink.gif

i think you did a good job for your first wedding. they're certainly not easy. if you're going to pursue shooting more weddings, i would encourage you to check out the wedding section here and on other online forums for tips of the trade. this is an evolving field that changes all of the time; keep an open mind to what's hot but be grounded in the fundamentals: good lighting, correct exposures, posing people, and reacting to the client.
