The skies have been generally overcast as anyone knows who lives up here in this area, but I try.

I couldn't get closer to this painted bunting and it was very dark last evening, but I tried to pull him out with some fill flash without overpowering the colors.

This cardinal was at my feeders but he seems to be missing some tail feathers. Close call with a cat, Cooper's or perhaps just another cardinal.

This carolina wren gave me nice pose. I found it actually at the Dallas Zoo in the gorilla enclosure. I hate that line running through the background but I just couldn't clone it out to my liking.

Here are a few more hummingibirds in flight....same one, different images. It was readjusting before heading back into the feeder.

Did post this one perched? I can't remember.

I'll be going down to San Antonio in a couple of weeks and I'm going to make it a point to capture a painted bunting. Tall order I know but that's a beautiful bird.

Love your wren even with the line. Nice. thumb.gif

Great group of shots! The painted bunting looks great. You did good with the fill light. I haven't had a chance to see one yet, except one that had been hit by a car at the refuge and was barely hanging on.
I am so glad you got the Carolina Wren. I have had one in yard quite often and never was able to get a good enough look or a picture to figure out what he was. Now I know, Thank You!!
And I know that wire at the zoo, pain in the behind... But it does remind me, I need to get to the Ft Worth one while it isn't too hot, if it will stop raining long enough.

Thanks for looking Bud, Donna and Dan. My hummers have seemed to have vacated. I guess I am going to have to wait until July when they start coming back through.
